Seniors Recognized at Award Ceremony
Seniors were recognized for their achievements and hard work during the Senior Awards ceremony held in the school’s big gym on Thursday, May 21, where students received scholarships, medals, stoles, honor cords, and certificates in front of family members, teachers, and classmates.

The ceremony celebrated seniors who will continue their education at schools such as UCLA, UC San Diego, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal State Fullerton, and Yale. The gym was decorated with balloons and graduation decorations, while parents filled the bleachers cheering and taking pictures as students walked down a red carpet to receive their awards. Photographers captured moments between students and their families, and ASB members handed out graduation-themed cookies at the end of the event.
For many students, the night was more than just receiving an award. It was a moment that reflected years of hard work, late nights, and dedication finally paying off.
Throughout the ceremony, students cheered for one another and celebrated the accomplishments of their classmates as they prepared for graduation and the next chapter of their lives.
“I would tell seniors to step out of their comfort zones, try new things, and stay involved in school,” said Linda Silva, an ALAS Scholarship winner. “Every effort you make matters, and your hard work will be recognized.”
Silva’s advice reflected the importance of getting involved and making the most out of high school experiences, both inside and outside of the classroom.
“I would say that upcoming seniors enjoy their senior year to the fullest, don’t stress too much about grades, and make memories with their friends,” said Anthony Alonso, also an ALAS Scholarship winner.
Alonso encouraged future seniors to enjoy the moments that come with their final year of high school instead of focusing only on stress and academics.
As graduation gets closer, the Senior Awards ceremony served as a reminder of how far the Class of 2026 has come and the opportunities waiting for them in the future.
