Senior GoodByes
As the 2025-2026 school year comes to an end, seniors are preparing to soar beyond the nest as they start a new chapter in their lives. Many seniors reflected on their favorite memories made throughout the years at Estancia and their goals they hope to achieve in the future.
School events and friendships have created the best high school memories for many students. Veronica Kehoe said one unforgettable memory from high school was winning first place in league for the very first time in school history with her water polo team. Briseyda Cabrera shared that the highlight of her high school career has been showing school spirit in events such as football games by dressing up for themes, and getting hype with her friends. Milonne Shah also added that ASB events and homecoming preparations made her high school years memorable because of the time she was able to spend with her friends and fellow ASB members.
As for college, many have committed to their college of choice. Veronica Kehoe plans to attend Cal Poly SLO to study business administration with a minor in pre-law, in hopes of becoming a lawyer in the future. Devoni Bustos is committed to attend USC and plans to become an international lawyer after discovering her interest in government and politics through internships and community involvement. Briseyda Cabrera is attending UC San Diego to study human biology on a pre-med track because she hopes to become a pediatrician and help children.
Many senior students claim they will miss the teachers they have had over the years and that they have been a major part of their high school years. Milonne Shah said Ms. Figueroa and Mr. Shelby supported her both socially and academically during difficult times. Veronica Kehoe named Mrs. De Los Santos as her favorite teacher because she has gotten the opportunity to be in her class and on the tennis courts with her too. Briseyda Cabrera said Mr. Anaya created a positive classroom environment and was someone she could trust.
Seniors also give advice to underclassmen on tips to survive high school.
Zach Abramson encouraged students to not stress out if they don’t know what they want to do after high school just yet and to just “go with the flow.”
Milonne Shah suggests that students start taking dual enrollment classes early to earn college credits and to attend as many school events as possible to get the full high school experience.
Although graduation brings nervousness and a few jitters, these seniors agreed that friendships, memories, and lessons from high school will stick with them as they move forward into college and future careers.
