A Work in Motion: The Progress of ‘Whisper All the Time
The upcoming play production Whisper All the Time will be performed in the new theater at Estancia High School. The play has been in production for about a month and is being produced by Mrs. Reyes. Two of the lead actors, Zaraida Verostek and Zahari Zavaleta, were interviewed about their experiences so far. Overall, the production has been going well, and everyone involved believes the final performance will exceed expectations.

According to the actors, rehearsals have been successful, though there have been a few challenges along the way. Zahari Zavaleta, who plays Michael Anderson, shared both positive aspects and struggles of the production. He explained, “One thing that has gone good so far is the character development between the characters, and one thing that has gone bad is that I need to learn to slow down and take my time when saying my lines.” Despite these minor issues, Zahari feels confident about the play and believes it will be his best performance yet. He credits the supportive cast and producer for pushing him to improve and making his role easier to perform.

Zaraida Verostek, who plays Emily Anderson, also spoke positively about the production. She mentioned that she finds it easier to portray her character because she can personally relate to her, which helps her acting feel more natural. Zaraida stated, “The play has been going very well so far because the other actors have been able to memorize their lines extremely fast, so that’s not a worry.” However, she noted that her main struggle has been making sure she does not rush through her lines, especially since her character has several long speeches. Overall, she believes the production has been progressing smoothly.

She praised the actors for their dedication and preparation, explaining that the blocking has been finalized and the cast has already memorized their lines. Mrs. Reyes also emphasized how meaningful the play is, saying, “This show has been so different since it relates to many struggles that people are having today in the real world, and it has honestly been such a great play to make with the actors overall.”
